The second type is ceramic grain abrasive, which, due to the addition of a cooling agent, prevents overheating of the processed metal. • Scotch-Brite discs are also provided by 3M. With these abrasive materials, we can grind and finish stainless steel with very good visual results. Grinding and removing welds using Scotch-Brite discs allows us to achieve a smooth surface, which can be observed in the production of various types of handrails, balconies, or balustrades often seen in shopping malls.
• Flap wheels are a type of abrasive flap wheel, similar to flap discs but mounted on a spindle. They can be used in straight grinders or drills. They are particularly useful for grinding edges in holes or hard-to-reach places where standard abrasive materials cannot reach.
• Fibre discs are another product from the American company 3M. Their characteristic feature is very high aggressiveness. They work very well in quick weld removal, especially using the 982C P36+ material for ordinary structural steel. The second type of material, 987C, is used for grinding stainless steel.
