One of the most popular welding devices, right after migomats, are TIG welders. This method involves generating an electric arc using a tungsten electrode. Argon is mainly used as a shielding gas, but mixtures of e.g. argon with helium are possible. It is very important to use gas of the highest possible purity, preferably class 5.0.
TIG welders for precise welding work
Undoubtedly, the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding process requires more skill than traditional welding with a semi-automatic welding machine. After selecting the appropriate welding materials, i.e. tungsten electrode and flux, the process can be initiated by igniting the arc in the welding torch button. However, when using a TIG welding machine, we have to manually feed the filler metal into the pool, which makes this method more difficult to master and requires much more time to practice. Nevertheless, of all welding methods, joining materials using TIG welders gives us the best visual effects. We can observe this on the example of balustrades in shopping malls. Do you need a good migomat? Check out the MIG/MAG welders available in our offer!
TIG DC, AC/DC welders for aluminum welding
Depending on the type of steel we will weld, we must choose the appropriate device. Carbon steel or stainless steel requires the purchase of a TIG welder with DC (Direct Current) or AC (Alternative Current) if you want to weld aluminum. Of course, TIG welders with AC functions also have a DC switch.
What should you pay attention to when buying TIG welders?
In addition to this basic parameter, important functions in TIG welders include the possibility of pulse welding, two-step or four-step, hot start, crater filling, setting the balance or pulse frequency. At the Weldcut welding store, we have various TIG welders perfect for working with this method. If you are undecided which welding machine to choose, we encourage you to contact our store staff to select the most optimal solution for the individual needs of each user. Safety is the most important thing when welding, so appropriate welding masks, welding helmets and welding torches will certainly come in handy, which will maximize comfort and safety at work.
