Optrel Vegaview 2.5 is an auto-darkening welding helmet with an image with increased brightness in the brightened state. The helmet has a wide range of applications which includes methods such as electrode welding (coated electrode, SMAW), MIG / MAG (GMAW), high melting point welding, flux cored wire welding, TIG welding (GTAW), plasma arc welding, plasma cutting , welding with an oxy-gas torch and also in grinding mode.
A special UV/IR filter gives the image real and realistic colors. The ADF filter is protected by anti-reflective outer and inner glass. The darkening level of 8-12 DIN guarantees an extremely bright image of the workplace. Grinding mode is activated with the press of a button, disabling the automatic dimming mode and allowing the user to observe the work area while sanding reaches a brightened state of 2.5 DIN. The mask is equipped with 3 sensors with a variable detection angle and a movable sensor slider. It is possible to expand the visor with an IsoFit headgear and the e3000 PAPR breathing system, which has an integrated and high-performance particle filter (TH3) that adequately protects the welder against smoke, gas and dust. The visor is made of PA6.6 material, which is extremely heat-resistant and has a heat-reflecting coating that ensures the appropriate temperature of the user's head. The visor provides protection against ultraviolet and infrared radiation. The time it takes for the visor to switch from light mode to dark mode is
0.10 ms at room temperature and 0.07 ms at 55°C, while from dark mode to light mode from 0.05 sec. up to 1.0 sec. adjustable.
The mask is powered by solar energy and two CR2032 batteries, which can provide a total of 3,000 hours of operation. Under typical operating conditions, it is not necessary to replace the battery because the energy of the welding arc radiation is used for power supply. The great advantage of the visor is its weight of only 482 grams, which makes it one of the lightest available on the market. Thanks to its ergonomic shape, it minimizes pressure on the head and neck, which ensures comfort even during long-term work throughout the day. The manufacturer guarantees a two-year standard warranty for the visor, but there is an option to extend it for an additional year by registering on the manufacturer's website within the first 6 months from the date of purchase. The face shield is CE and ANSI marked and CSA compliant.
