It is used for welding hard steels and can be used to create a buffer layer during hardening surfacing. The main applications of this wire include surfacing, exhaust systems, dissimilar metal joints, as well as hardened and tempered alloys. During welding with the LNM 307 wire, it is recommended to use a gas mixture containing argon in the amount of 0.5% to 5% CO₂ or 0.5% to 3% O₂ as a shielding gas.
