The Speedtec 500SP by Lincoln Electric is a third-generation multi-process inverter power source, perfectly suited for numerous industrial applications. Its dimensions are 550 mm x 295 mm x 625 mm and its weight is 54.5 kg. It provides stable welding parameters for work with the following methods: GMAW (MIG/MAG), SMAW (MMA-welding with a coated electrode), as well as FCAW-G, FCAW-S (cored wire welding), GTAW (ignition using the lift TIG method). For each of the above processes, the machine allows for operation with a maximum current of 400A at 100% cycle and 500A at 60% cycle. The distinctive feature of the Speedtec 500SP welding machine is also the CAG electro-air gouging function (in combination with the LF56 cooler) as well as brazing.
PERFORMANCE AND SAFETY
The device with a reinforced structure from Lincoln Electric is ready for the toughest working conditions. It is characterized by high efficiency and reliability, and thanks to optimized ergonomics and professionally designed construction, the continuity of the device's operation is ensured, even in the most demanding production and environmental conditions. Speedtec 500SP is distinguished by its above-average resistance, which has been confirmed by numerous tests, including the TRUE HD test, CRASH TEST, ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY TEST (EMC), and a thermal test confirming the uninterrupted operation of the welder for 2 hours at a temperature of +40 C and 55% humidity, and a dust test indicating the continuous operation of the machine for 4 hours in a dust chamber.
The Speedtec 500SP welder has an IP23 degree of protection, which confirms protection against solid foreign bodies with a diameter equal to or greater than 12.5 mm and protection and operational stability of the equipment positioned at an angle of up to 60° from the vertical on any side. The tunnel design of the cooling system prevents dust and dirt from entering the electronics. Protected electronics are a guarantee of durability and safety.
APPLICATION IN A VARIOUS RANGE OF INDUSTRIES
The Speedtec 500SP device is perfect for heavy industry, construction and shipbuilding. Thanks to the wide range of synergic lines and the high quality Speed Short Arc™ which is characterized by a faster wire feed speed. High Penetration Speed™ ensures deeper penetration. Soft Silence Pulse™ reduces noise levels and provides better wettability when welding stainless steel. MECHAPULSE™ is a guarantee of high-quality weld with a regular pattern similar to fish scales. The software also provides Production Monitoring (Checkpoint). Speedtec 500SP also guarantees precise wire feeding and, in the case of the Advance panel, enables brazing. The semi-automatic welding machine from Lincoln Electric can be used in light production, as well as in all types of machine repairs and assembly, as it provides stable welding parameters for carbon and high-alloy steels, while maintaining efficiency above >85%. The device is adapted to work with power generators and has been equipped with long intermediate cables, thanks to which it can be used during field work. Speedtec 500SP is also ideal for people who are starting their welding adventure, because it has a special ARCFX panel that supports learning.
CONSTRUCTION OF THE DEVICE
The Speedtec 500SP welding machine is based on modern inverter technology, which is incredibly environmentally friendly, providing energy savings (standby/shutdown function). It also combines modularity and ease of use, and also provides optimal welding performance. This technology also affects faster control of the welding arc than in the case of analog power sources. The compact design of the machine allows for easy transport.
4-WHEEL TROLLEY
The four-wheeled trolley dedicated to the Speedtec 500SP welder features a Heavy Duty chassis, which ensures stable operation of the machine, even on surface inclines of up to 15°. Large wheels facilitate maneuvering and overcoming obstacles such as cables or thresholds. The metal construction, characterized by extraordinary stability, makes the trolley even more resistant to mechanical damage. The rotating wire feeder, the rotating bracket allows the feeder to be set in any position.
The trolley has a lowered shelf for a gas cylinder, the assembly of which using a chain is extremely quick and easy. For even greater comfort of work, the user also has 4 transport handles at their disposal, facilitating easy gripping with gloves and safe relocation of the device. In addition, the trolley has a place for a welding torch and a hanger for a combined cable, especially useful in the case of long cables. The trolley is equipped with protective legs, rubber protectors and chains ensuring efficient securing of the equipment.
COOLER COOLARC
Internal LED lighting provides good visibility of the coolant level. The cooler can operate in one of three modes AUTO/ON/OFF. The cooler is equipped with a flow sensor, which allows safe operation of the welding torch. They enable reduction of energy consumption and also extend the durability of the device. The device has a degree of protection IP23.
WIRE FEEDERS
The Speedtec 500SP device allows you to connect a standard wire feeder - LF52D, which is designed for basic applications or an advanced feeder - LF56D, which is aimed at the most demanding users.
The standard version of the LF52D wire feeder offers a wide range of synergic programs enabling simple and precise control of welding parameters to achieve the best results. The control panel located in the LF52D wire feeder is highly intuitive and very easy to use, so it does not require long training. It allows for simple navigation in the menu using buttons, giving direct access to the most frequently used welding parameters, such as: wire feed speed (Run-in), arc dynamics - Arc control (inductance), welding torch operating mode (2-tact/4-tact) or wire burn-off time, which prevents the wire from sticking to the weld pool.

Advanced wire feeder (LF56D) has a simple and intuitive control panel with two knobs and a button for easy navigation, even when wearing welding gloves. The Advanced version has also been equipped with a 7-inch TFT color display, which shows selected welding parameters and processes. The main button functions are presented by graphic symbols. The operation is also available in the following languages: English, German, French, Polish, Finnish, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Dutch, Romanian, Slovak, Hungarian, Czech, Turkish.
Users have at their disposal the ARCFX ™ function, which visualizes the weld and all parameters on the display. The LF-56D wire feeder supports MIG processes thanks to a wide range of synergy lines, which include, among others: programs for stainless steel, steel, aluminum and core wires. Among the available functions are also: lock functions, memory and job modes that can be protected by a password. The LF56D wire feeder allows you to select programs from the welding torch level, thus improving the comfort of work. The Advanced version is also equipped with an additional built-in USB port that allows for quick uploading of updates.
Below is the interface of the LF56D wire feeder in the Advanced version:
1. 7-inch TFT color display: view the welding parameters,
2. Left handle: adjust the value in the upper left corner of the display / cancel the selection / return to the previous menu,
3. Right push button: adjust the value in the upper right corner of the display / cancel the selection / confirm the changes,
4. Middle push button: return to the main menu.
The Lincoln Electric wire feeders (LF52D and LF56D) are equipped with the latest technology and a precise feed mechanism consisting of 4 large diameter drive rolls (37 mm), ensuring solid wire feeding, regardless of its type. The Speedtec 500SP power source has factory-built rolls for wire with a diameter of 1.0 mm and 1.2 mm made of low-alloy and stainless steel. The aluminum housing of the guides significantly increases their durability, and the new locking mechanism allows for easy replacement of rolls and guides, without the use of tools. Thanks to the use of a rotating bracket, it is possible to rotate the wire feeders and set them in any position.
